In 2009 we opened The Golden State on Fairfax. But after 5 years of searching for good neighborhood coffee, we decided to just do it ourselves.

So in 2014, Cofax Coffee was born and we were happily caffeinated. But then we needed breakfast. So we launched our now iconic breakfast burrito, famed for its potatoes which are slow-smoked at our sister restaurant, Bludso's Bar & Que.

But much to our surprise, humans cannot survive on just coffee, tea, draft kombucha and breakfast burritos. So we brought in acclaimed pastry chef and National Blue Ribbon Pie Champion Nicole Rucker. Now we make great donuts, cookies, granola, horchata lattes and more.
